UK pre-launch enquiries

Ask a question.
Not a sign-up.

UrbanBite is not yet accepting vendor registrations or maintaining a launch list. If you have a question about whether UrbanBite could suit your business, email contact@urbanbite.menu.

We will use what you send only to respond to and manage your enquiry; emailing us does not subscribe you to marketing. The pre-launch privacy notice sets out what happens to an enquiry and how long it is kept.

There is no form on this page, no account to create and nothing to opt into. A plain email reaches a person, and a reply comes back from the same address.

WHAT HAPPENS TO AN ENQUIRY
  1. 01You email a question to the address above
  2. 02We read it and answer it
  3. 03We delete the correspondence once the enquiry is resolved

Your address is not added to any mailing list and no launch reminder is created from it. If you would rather we deleted an enquiry sooner, say so in the message and we will.

WHAT YOU ARE ASKING ABOUT

Independent food businesses, and the route to their own customers.

UrbanBite Menu Ltd is building one web and app ordering platform for independent UK food businesses: street-food traders, food trucks, market kitchens, takeaways, cafés, bakeries and restaurants. The same product is intended to serve a single trailer and a multi-room restaurant without forcing restaurant-grade setup on the trailer.

What UrbanBite is being designed to do

UrbanBite is being designed so a vendor holds the direct line to the people who already buy their food: an ordering route the vendor owns, with the customer relationship kept on the vendor’s own page. Under the planned fixed-cost model, a larger basket will not trigger a larger percentage platform charge. It is designed to be started alongside whatever a business already runs, so that trying it is a small step rather than a commitment to replace a till. Whether that suits your operation, and what it would sit next to, is exactly what an enquiry is for.

What is intended to be different

A customer route the vendor owns — a vendor page, a QR code and an optional app — with one menu behind the web, app and walk-up order journey, a kitchen display turning incoming orders into a visible preparation queue, and vendor-selected allergen labels shown at the point of choice. Vendors are intended to start pay-as-you-go alongside whatever they run today and move to a predictable fixed cost when their volume makes that the better fit.

Where and when

Great Britain is the first market: sterling, UK address formats and UK tax conventions are the defaults rather than a translation of something built elsewhere. An Australian page exists for the .au domain, and the service is not operating there either. Everything on this site describes planned capability. Nothing described is available to use today, individual capabilities may change or may not all be included at the initial UK launch, and no launch date is being published.

MAKING AN ENQUIRY ANSWERABLE

Tell us how you actually trade.

A specific answer needs a specific question. None of this is required — it simply changes a general reply into a useful one.

OUTDOOR AND MOBILE

Describe the pitch pattern.

Where and when you trade, whether the location moves during the week, and how customers reach the counter today.

COUNTER AND KITCHEN

Describe the order intake.

How orders arrive now, what your collection pattern looks like, and what breaks first when a lunchtime rush lands.

ALREADY RUNNING SYSTEMS

Describe what has to stay.

The till, card terminal or marketplace channel you would want to keep, so the reply is about your operation rather than a general pitch.

Send only what you are comfortable sending. There is no required field, because there is no form — an enquiry that contains nothing but a question is a perfectly valid enquiry. These are the same three categories the pre-launch privacy notice describes — how and where you trade, how orders reach you today, and the systems you already use — so what that notice says about an enquiry is what this page asks for.

BEFORE YOU WRITE

Much of it is already on the site.

The platform pages describe each surface and the planned order journey in more detail than an email reply usually can.
