Keep more as you grow
Under the planned fixed-cost model, a larger basket will not trigger a larger percentage platform charge.

Why UrbanBite
More control over how customers find you, order and come back—without an immediate marketplace exit or a full till replacement.
Start alongside. Expand on evidence. Keep what works. Compare real orders and costs. Change more only when your own results justify it.

If your current marketplace contract takes a percentage of each basket, that charge grows with the order. UrbanBite is shaping its charges to leave more of each order with local food businesses.
Under the planned fixed-cost model, a larger basket will not trigger a larger percentage platform charge.
Vendors will use PAYG while demand develops, then move to a predictable fixed-cost subscription when it suits their volume.
A QR code, web link and optional app route to your menu—your food and brand at the centre.
Once live, early vendors will get a visibility head start in the default location-aware Nearby view: closer proximity bands will appear first, then earlier vendor accounts within each band. Customers will be able to choose another sort.
UrbanBite web, app, walk-up and kitchen activity will stay tied to one menu and order journey.
Vendors will update digital menus, translations and vendor-selected allergen labels without reprinting.
Pre-launch note: UrbanBite is not yet accepting vendor registrations or maintaining a launch list. Nothing on this site creates a vendor account, reserves a position in the Nearby order or guarantees placement.
PRACTICAL ADVANTAGES
Start it alongside a marketplace or till, measure it with your own business data, and expand only when it earns the change.

Swipe to see every advantage
| Vendor goal | UrbanBite (planned) | Practical advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Be found locally | Nearby discovery plus a direct vendor page | Your menu, your food, your brand at the centre. |
| Set up from what you have | An AI-assisted menu draft from an existing menu, followed by vendor review and vendor-selected allergen labels | Less retyping, and written allergen information at the point of ordering from the first published menu. Every published item and allergen choice stays yours. |
| Start without a full system change | QR-to-web ordering and PAYG designed to work alongside existing tools | Try it in your own operation before moving more orders. |
| Run one service flow | Customer web and app ordering, walk-up orders, vendor controls and kitchen display around one menu | Keep UrbanBite web, app and walk-up orders tied to one menu and kitchen flow. |
| Keep order custody clear | Customer confirmation only after the vendor has durably stored and acknowledged the order and payment capture succeeds | One explicit boundary for when an order is accepted. |
| Handle connection interruptions | A vendor surface being designed to preserve key service tasks through brief connection drops | Service continuity, without claiming every connected function stays available. |
| Choose costs as you grow | Start PAYG, then move to fixed cost when it suits your volume | Begin small, then choose the planned model that fits your volume. |
These are planned UrbanBite capabilities, not claims about every marketplace or POS product. Before changing systems, compare contract, processing, hardware, support and workflow costs using your own order data.
THE URBANBITE ADVANTAGE
Keep the tools you trust. Trial UrbanBite’s planned direct ordering alongside them. Move more only when your own results justify it.
Build a direct web and app route for customers who already know you, and keep the marketplace channels that work. Compare real orders, costs and repeat demand before shifting more traffic.
Trial QR and web ordering, walk-up orders and kitchen display alongside your current till before deciding what to keep, connect or replace.
Specialist card-terminal and accounting tools may remain alongside UrbanBite. This is a phased route to one connected ordering platform, not a claim that every POS function will be replaced at launch.
TRY THE ROUTE, THEN DECIDE
The preview starts with the business you already run and keeps every important decision in vendor hands.
